Now a Star
ILfAIDIE Christians, who played an important role in “Come and Get It, ’’ seen here earlier this year, received her first big chance in the film, while Frances Fanner, who is now a star as a result of her performance, was ushering people down the aisles Of a Seattle Theatre three years ago.
Miss Farmer says that her position as usher at a Seattle theatre was not the worst one she has had.
“I was employed as a waitress, as a stenographer,'and as an assistant in a factory Where shampoo was manufactured- For the last I was paid £3 per week, and I accepted the position on the advice of an nunt, who told me to forget about acting and flo something useful!’’
Miss Christians’ father was an actor and her mother nn ppgra singer, and, in 1912, she was tgjypn to New York, where her father founded the German theatre anj her mother taught singing. .She was a member gf Max Rheinhardt’s theatre for seven yeatsi arid was starred. in German, French, and English ijramas.
