A rate of Ggcl on the unimproved value reduced by 25 per cent, which will make tho levy equal to fid on tho full unimproved value, was decided upon Into yesterday afternoon hy the meeting of the (!ook County Council after the council had spent two hours in committee for the purpose of discussing the rating for their district, for tho new term.
Last year the. estimates were taken over 12 separate areas and the average of rates v struck was about 4fd, but this year a flat rate was struck for tho county. A report will- bo prepared by the chairman, Cr. Charles Matthews. '
