The following donations tn the King George V memorial fund were acknowledged at yesterday's meeting of the Cook County Council: — ■ .

A resolution calling on the Government to cancel immediately all appointments which compelled grocers to purchase their supplies of butter from any iirm competing witli them in direct supply to the public was carried nnani mously at a special meeting of the New Zealand Master Grocers' Federation -held recently in Wellington.
