RIDER INJURED

CAR AND HORSE COLLIDE MISHAP IN TOKOMARU BAY (Special to the Herald.) TOKOMARU BAY, this day. A cut over the eye and on the head and gravel rash to the face were suffered by a Maori. Mr. Dave Ngatoro, at Tokom'ai'u Bay on Saturday evening when the horse he was riding collided with a motor car driven by Mr. Colin King, Arero. According to 'the account received by the police, the horse, and rider .were travelling from Waima along Beach road when for some unknown reason the horse ran into the car, which was travelling towards the picture theatre. The horse had two holes ripped in its chest by two door handles of the car, which were torn off by the impact. The glass in the windscreen and one front door of the car was broken and a back mud-guard smashed.

The rider's injuries were not serious enough to necessitate his removal to hos pital.
