Detective A. G. McWhirter said that the accused was looked upon as one of the larrikin type. The words complained of were used frequently in a 'song at Te Araroa. The boxing gloves were removed from the home, of the owner, Spencei Haenga, and were used in Te Araroa. They were now useless. The accused had previous convictions for obsence language and disorderly behaviour, and was at present serving a month's imprisonment for obscene language.
