P. AND 0. LINERS RUMOUR FROM TOKIO TOKK), April 22. A report is current that tho Eastern aijd Australian Line intends placing the P. and 0. liners Naldera and Moldavia in service between Australia, and .Japan before tho end of the year,, in order to meet Japanese competition.

The Moldavia (16,556 tons) and the Naldera (16,133 tons), are both well known to travellers. Tho Moldavia is at present engaged in tho Australian trade, and is scheduled to sail for Australia in September. The Naldera is a sister ship to the Narkunda. She is now engaged on tho London-Yokohama run, but has heen used in tho Australian trade on a number of occasions. She last visited Sydney in 1934. The vessels at present employed by the E. and A. Line in the trade between Australia and Japan are tho Nankin (7131 tons), N'ellore (6942 tons), and Tanda (7160 tons).
