MOTU WEDDING

WHITEHEAD—MOFFATT (Herald Coriesponaent.7 St. Raul's .Church, Motu. was the scene of a very pretty wedding last Wednesday evening, when Eileen, eldest, daughter of Mr*. T. Jackson, Motu, and the late Mr. 11. Moffati, Aspatria, Cumberland, England, was married to Edward Alfred, son of Mr. and, Mrs. S. Whitehead. Makuraka.

The church had been beautifully decorated by girl friends of the bride, with lycnpodium and native greenery and pink and white cosmos and chrysanthemums. The service was conducted by the Rev. J. D. Hodgson, and appropriate organ music was played by Mr. C. 0. Anderson.

The bride, who was escorted by her step-father, Mr. T. Jackson, wore a graceful frock of parenment satin, made on tight-fitting lines, the long skirt, which was finished at the waistline with a diamante clasp, being slightly trained. Her tulle veil hung in graceful folds from a Russian coronet head-dress, and slie carried a bouquet of cream roses, asters and dahlias. The bride was at tended by her sister, .Miss Freda Moffatt, who wore a charming trick of fiesta pink velvet, made on slimming lines and finished at the waistline with a silver girdle. A bandeau of silver flowers formed a dainty head-dress, and a bouquet of blue and pink asters completed her toilette. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Cyril Derecourt as groomsman. A reception was held later in the Motu Hall, the supper-room having been prettily decorated. Howls of pink and white cosmos and sweet peas were arranged on the tables and a large silver bell was suspended over the bridal couple. The guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, the latter wearing a smart navy costume, with a vestee of shell pink georgette. A navy felt, hat. trimmed with Coronation feathers was worn, and she carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers. The usual toasts wore honoured and the guests were afterwards entertained at a very jolly dance, Mrs. W. T'.urbuigh and Mrs. S. Grantham supplying the music. Mr. and Mrs. Whitehead left later by car for the south, the bride travelling in a navy maroeain frock and coat with accessories to tone. Their future home will be at Hick's Hay.
