The executive of tho British Labour Party has passed a resolution that the sufferings of the Spanish people have passed the climax of horror and shame in tho criminal bombing of Guernica, the Basque capital, by German planes under tho command of rebel generals and that the British Labour Party denounces the outrage on defenceless people, for which there was no shadow of military reason or excuse, as an outrage to humanity and a violation of the principles of civilisation.
Tho party requests the British Govern inent, through the League of Nations, to examine the whole problem of bomb ing open towns and the indiscriminate slaughter of non-combatants.
General Moln, the leader of the Spanish rebels on the Bilbao front, is reported to have warned the Basque Government, that he will raze Bilbao unless the town surrenders.
