"From much information received, the wool-growers in. this district are definitely against price fixation for wool, and my chamber is of the opinion that some large-scale action should be undertaken, and considers it should emanate from a central body such as the Associated Chambers. A resolution was passed by the chamber as follows: —'That this chamber strongly i protests against any guaranteed or fixed price for wool, and asks the Associated Chambers—if in its considered opinion it agrees—to take the matter up with all the constituent chambers, the New Zealand ttheepowners' Federation and the New Zealand Farmers' Union, with a view to making a jnitcd appeal to the Prime Minister against such a step, as not being in the interests of the farming community or the Dominion generally.' "
