Hessian Fly
"UESSIAN fly is prevalent throughout Canterbury this year." according to Mr. K. UcCillivrny. fields superintendent, of the Department of Agriculture in Canterbury. ' Mr. McGiHivray remarked that, there wets a parasite, but. control was not good this year. About 20 years ago hessian llv'had been particularly bad in South Otngo. but a natural parasite had checked it.
The problem was being investigated With a view to action, Mr. McGiHivray said, but nothing could bo done until the spring.
