SCALE OP EARNINGS ADDITIONS SUGGESTED (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this- day. A suggestion that the earnings of casual workers should be supplemented from tho unemployment fund to bring them up to the level of the .basic wage of £3 16s was contained in a letter forwarded to the Minister of Labour, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, by the Auckland Builders ahd General Labourers’ Union. . It was pointed out by the union that members had suffered considerable hardship in recent weeks owing to the inclement weather.
