SANDERS CUP

JELLICOE CLASS YACHTS CHAMPIONSHIP OF N.Z. RACES BEGIN TO-MORROW (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, to-day. The first race of the seventeenth annual contest for the Sanders Cup interprovincial championship of New Zealand for the 14ft. Jellicoo class will be held to-morrow.

All the crews and boats are now at Lyttelton.

Endeavour, Larina and Lynette were out yesterday in the fresh breeze. Today the boats were hauled out to receive a final polish and overhaul of the sails and running year to ensure that each boat goes to the starting line in first class order.

The boats and crews taking part are: Auckland, Endeavour. —D. Rogers, skipper, R. Rogers, forward hand, A. Bell-Booth, mainsheet, and W. l’arkes.

Wellington, Lavina.—J. Comeman, skipper, H. Williams, forward hand, J. Nolan and J. Sand ford. Canterbury, Colleen.—W. Tissiman, skipper, K. Sillars, forward hand, GHarris, and W. Helmslev.

Otago. Lynette.—o. Pettit, skipper, W. Mason, "forward hand, E. Burt, and J. Arnold.

Southland, Rawetie.—lt. P. Gough, skipper, H. J. Gough, forward hand, J. T. Nelson, and E. N. Jackson. To-night a conference will bo bold when tiie delegates from the live centres will arrange details connected with the contest and appoint racing officials. It is expected that the first race will start to-morrow afternoon, and two races will bo sailed .on Friday, and the races Continued on Monday. The Canterbury regatta will take plaCe on Saturday, tire Sanders Cup boats competing in the morning and afternoon events for their class.
