CHILDREN'S SPORTS RETAILERS EFFORT (Herald Correspondent.) There was a large attendance of the public, including visitors tor the Wniroa A. and !’. Society’s Show and for the races, at the children’s sports organised by the retailers in connection with the Wniroa carnival activities and held on Wednesday night. Mothers’ Pram Race. —Mrs. Wright, l; Airs. Kirwin, 2. Balloon Bursting Race, boys.— Prebble and Cook, equal, 1; E. O’Connor, 3.

Married Ladies’ Race. —Mrs. McIntosh, I; Mrs. Rvan, 2. Girls’ Race. — E. Wright, 1; M. Shaw, 2; Z. Buckingham, 3. DANCIXG EXIIIBITION. East Wednesday evening a national dancing exhibition was given by Mairoa and Gisborne performers who had taken part in the national dancing events at the A. and P. Society’s Show during the day. The exhibition attracted a large number of people, who heartily applauded all the items. The side slioyvs were well patronised, as also was the carnival cabaret, where dancing was enjoyed by a large number until a late hour.
