ABOLITION OF QUOTAS AMBITION IN EUROPE (British Official Wireless.) Recd. 1.30 p.m. KUGBY, Oct, 7. The movement- for a reduction of the trade barriers following the realignment of currencies was demonstrated again by to-day's proceedings of the second commission of Iho League .Assembly at Geneva.
A Swiss delegate, M. Stucki. said that his Government devalued principally to show its willingness lo participate in (Fie international gesture towards economic recovery. He announced that Switzerland would progressively reduce tariffs. The (.'zechosiovakian delegate, M. Ve.verka, said his Government had taken up the study of the question of abolishing exchange, control in order to secure its abolition as quickly as possible.
M. Van Lanscliot, Netherlands, intimated that his country had abolished quotas on leather, furniture, and linoleum, and that, other quotas would bo withdrawn as ;t. step in the direction of wiping out hindrances to trade.
