AWAPUNI SCHOOL

MEETING OF COMMITTEE GROUNDS IMPROVEMENTS The monthly meeting of the Awapuni School Committee was held on Tuesday evening, there beingi present Messrs. E. File, chairman, P. Steimer, C. Prvcc, J. Ridded, J. Hodgson, and J. D. Martin, lion, secretary.

The headmaster's report indicated a roll of 146, with an average attendance for September of 131.3. Mr. W. F. Jones further reported that one of his assistants, Mr. V. Hutchinson, had been called away for a few weeks on relieving duties, and that bis place was being filled by Mrs. P. E. Smith during his absence.

Tho Hawke's Bay Education Board forwarded information regarding the availability of additional funds for school upkeep and capitation, the committee going into the various projects previously deferred in connection with improvements to the school grounds, the chairman and secretary being delegated to draw u]) plans and estimates of the cost, of the respective projects.
