Mr. Robert Stewart, whose death took place recently in Nelson, arrived from tho Old Country witli his parents in the early 'fifties, landing at Dunedin, and then going to Auckland, and later on to Nelson. He was a builder by trade.
In the Opotiki Police Court on Monday before Mr. El L. Walton, S.M., Valentine Savage was fined 10s and costs for a breach of a prohibition order; Hirinl Allison was fined 10s and costs for using a motor-vehicle without registration plates; and Murray Lambert Scott was fined 5s without costs for" a breach of the traffic regulations in that he failed to give way at an intersection to a car approaching on tho right,.
The death occurred in Timarn last wcclc at the age of 76 of Mr. Isaac James Bradley, who was the last survivor in Timarn of those who took part in the rescue of the crews of the ships Benvenuo and City of Perth, which were wrecked at Timarn on May 14, 1882. Mr. Bradley was born at Hodden./ Victoria, and came to New Zealand with his parents while still young and had most of his schooling at Hokitika.
