CONTROL OF TRAFFIC
LINES AT INTERSECTIONS BOROUGH COUNCIL ACTION \ system of directional lines at. intersection for the guidance of traffic was adopted by the Gisborne Borough bounc'd last night. , . , This was the result of a report submitted bv the advisory committee ot the Automobile Association (Auckland) and considered by the- works committee, which made the following recommendations: . . rp,“Report of automobile patron—- Lins report was considered by the committee, and it was decided to recommend that the following suggestion in regard to directional lines at intersections bo adopted by the council, the lines to commence a 'short distance hack from the corner, and the marking to continue to a point in line with the kerb at the intersection, and to finish with a cuclc about Hi. in diameter, ’file benefit, of this method is that motorists arc led to the correct point of turning, and the possibility of cutting the corner is avoided. . . “The committee also recommends that wherever possible white tiles he utilised for directional lines in lien of painting lines, this method being considered more serviceable and economic.” The report was adopted.
