LORD SEMPILL’S PLANE
RETURN TO LONDON RECORD BID HINTED (Heed. Oet. 7, noon) DARWIN, Od. 7. Piloted by Mr. ft. Wood, Lord Sent pill’s mono,spar plane, which was flown recently from England, arrived from Melbourne- to-day, having covered 2435 miles in 12 hours 59min. Mr. Wood said lie was confident ho could keep a promise to the crew that they would have lunch in London next Sunday. To do this, Mr. Wood must fly more than 12,700 miles without relief at the controls and break tho record of 5 days 15 hours from Darwin to London held by Flight-Lieut. Uathcarl-Jones and Mr. Ken Waller
