HIDES AND SHEEPSKINS INCREASE -IN VALUER Values for hides and sheepskins were firmer at the Wellington sale, on Friday. Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Company, Limited, report as follows: _ “Especially keen .was the competition for sheepskins, and prices showed an all-round advance of from -|d to per lb, as compared with the last Wellington sale. Pelts and short-wools showed the. least advance.

“Hides were firm for all grades; calfskins advanced by id to lilt per lb and yearlings iby id to fd, as compared with our last sale. Ox and cow hides maintained late rates. Tallow was firm.”

CATTLE PAIR OUTSIDE BUYERS ABSENT l The absence, of outside buyers at yesterday’s Cattle Fair had a considerable effect on the market for store cattle, and values showed "a- considerable decline. Grown heifers .were down on the September valued by £1 IQs, empty cows by £1 Bs, and bullocks by £l.
