RENNER About SO people attended the annual meeting, of shareholders and suppliers ot the Okitu Co-operative Dairy Company, held utiNuhaka yesterday. , The chair was taken by Mr. G. lh ton. On the motion of Mrs. Niri Whaanga, a vote of thanks was passed to the directors and officers of the company for the interest taken in the welfare of suppliers and for the efficient and economical manner in which they had always conducted the company’s business. Mr. Renner replied on behalf of the directors, while the manager and the secretary spoke pn matters affecting'the interests of suppliers. The' latter pointed out that a further additional payment of Id per pound, together with a 5 per cent dividend on share capital fully subscribed at' June, 1935, would be made available bn October 20.. In reply to inquiries made with regard to the motion passed at the recent ward conference in connection with tho dairy regulations of 19J6, insofar a.s they affected tho. suppliers of factories represented at that meeting, Mr. Renner stressed the necessity for tho liberty of the individual being conserved; also the eventual danger of monopolies being created, this being a matter .which had always been •brought prominently before farmers and had at all times fOceived their strong! opposition.
