BAPTIST ASSEMBLY
FIRST SESSION TO-DAY
Delegates from the Baptist churches of New Zealand will meet at Auckland to-day for the llfty-fourth annual assembly of the Baptist Union. Dr. Alexander Hodge will preside at a welcome ten, to be given in the 'Tabernacle, when addresses will be delivered by the Rev. O. Chant, president of the Auckland auxiliary, the Rev. J. A. Thomson, president of the Council of Christian Congregations, and Air. W. J. Rardsley, of Dunedin. The first session of the assembly will bo held in the. Tabernacle at 7.30 o’clock, when Hie Rev. J. Laird will preside. The official address of tho president, tho Rev. A. Anstice, of Christ church, on “Puritanism and Today,” will be given, and the Rev. 11. A. Jones, recently returned from service in Eastern Bengal, will also speak. The annual meeting of the. Baptist Women’s Missionary Union will he. held to-day. The president, Mrs. K. T. Page, will preside.
