Sterling) defeated Tho Pioneer, under a light weight, m tho best mile of tho season on the tan, the time being 1.464, Gilt went a mile in 1.47. Bustard looks well. On the tan Favourite Son (A. Stephens) went nine furlongs in 2.1. He went well. Gay Lover did pace work and looks well after the Sydney trip. Arachne has recovered and went five furlongs in 1-74- . , Journal and Royal Melody arrived to-day.

Thyono covered three furlongs in 40sec. Siren did a steady task. Dick Devon went a strong mile.

Gay Blonde is a likely runner in the Caulfield Gup. Conditions were ideal for galloping at Caulfield. On the grass. Dark Sky and Beechwood finished together over a record seven furlongs in 1.271. The first half-mile took 474scc. and the first six 1.14.

Charles Fox and Stylish covered six furlong 3 in 1.16. Northwind and Boongary went the best mile in 1.46.

Riddle defeated Othello over a splendid four furlongs in 49sec., the first two taking 24sec. _

Prince Quex concluded' his work with four furlongs in 534 sec. Sculpin went six furlongs in 1.16 and looks well. Auries Star went five furlongs in 1.2|, and Toltec seven in 1.32. Oratory strode well. Cuddle cantered. Chief Ranger defeated- Great Hope over six furlongs in 1.21. The former looks much improved. Mitsui and Link Divine went four furlongs in 50|sec.
