RISING WOOL PRICES
JAPANESE ALARMED EFFECTS OF BOYCOTT TOKIO, Oct. d. The Asahi reports that, due to the Japanese boycott of Australian wool, prices have soared elsewhere, and so far tliis season Japan has actually bought only 00,000 bales of South African and South American wool. The worried industrialists are proposing a drastic blanket reduction of output, which, however, is not acceptable to the Government, and consequently it is anticipated that the industrialists will demand that the Government substantially indemnify them against losses due to the boycott of Australian wool. STILL UNSATISFACTORY AUSTR ALLAN PROPOSALS (Reed. Oct. 6, ll a.m. TOKIO, Oct. 5. It was officially stated to-day that Australia’s latest proposals for n trade settlement were unsatisfactory.
