PSYCHOLOGY TESTS
TRAINING FOR FOOTBALLERS LONDON, Aug. 19. Arsenal Football Club, Football Association Cup-holders, are planning for their players psychology tests such as i.ondon busmen undergo. Football training is no longer a matter of running round a track and skipping. Scientific training of the brain as well as the body is the thing to-day. So Mr. George Allison, Arsenal manager, is negotiating with London Transport for permission to pul his players through psychology tests at the Chiswick busmen’s training school. Said Mr. Allison yesterday:— “1 have always admired the wonderfully quick co-ordination between thought and' action which characterises our London bus-drivers, particularly in emergency. “This same co-ordination makes a great player. 1 understand that the devices at Chiswick speedily detect the points, and flaws- in a man’s mentality.
“It will be possible to grade training o suit different types of men.”
