RECORD IN PROSPECT
WORK OP THE SESSION
70 RILLS PREPARED
(Pai'liamfintary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this clay
The current session of Parliament appears to be making a legislative record. for the Hon. R. Semple's bill taking control of an additional 4CCO miles of main arterial roads is the seventieth on the list.
The law drafting department is still working at high pressure, wit D the result, that the most important remaining Government measure, covering proposals for the amalgamation of local bodies, has not appeared. There is a suggestion that it may have to lie delayed in actual consideration by Parliament till next session, as the Ministers hope to complete the Parliamentary work before the end of O'cfober.
