YOUNG MAN'S DEATH
SHOOTING TRAGEDY EARLY MORNING INCIDENT
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. A rabbit shooting expedition at Ruiieiman, 2(i miles south of Auckland, early this morning, ended wiili the death, from a gunshot found in the chest, of John. Reginald Smith, married, '.',?,, of Ml. Koskill. The fatality occurred at about - a.m. In company with a girl aged IS, Smith left the city by motor car at 11 o'clock on Saturday night. .Tust beyond [tunciintin, they stopped the car and Smith got out and walked a few feel away, where he fired a shot to test a .110 single barrel gun.
When a second shot was heard, his companion, who remained in the car, saw him fall. Investigating she found him dead. She immediately drove to Auckland and reported the fatality to the police.
