The president remarked that this evidence of interest in tlie district on the part of Mr. Miller had given the association much satisfaction. He considered that they should be most/ careful in the allocation of the trophy, and one suggestion was that it should be kept for perpetual competition, and that it should be competed for in different sections from year to year. Several suggestions were received from representatives of different sections of stockbreeders, each putting! in claims for allocation of the trophy. Mr. R. C. Parker moved that for the first year the bowl should lie competed for in the crossbred sheep section. In the discussion on this proposal, the president suggested that il crossbred sheep were selected for the first year, wool should he included in the classes to count for the trophy. Mr. .1. Bell proposed us an alternative that the honour of competing for the trophy in the first year should he balloted for. Another course put forward by Mr. E. R. Black was that the bowl should he made an over-riding award, to be held each year by flic exhibitor gaining most first awards' in live-stock classes, exclusive of dogs and poultry. Mr. R. C. Parker withdrew his earlier proposal, and Mr. P. J. Roberts seconded Mr. Black’s motion.
