HOUSE RENT REDUCED
RULING BY MAGISTRATE In a reserved judgment at "\Vellington, Mr. J. 11. Luxford, S.M., .reduced the rent of certain premises from £2 7s 6d a week to either 3Cs or £2 a week, according lo whether certain minor .repairs are effected by October 12. Mr. Luxford said' the court could propefly give effect to the Act in eases where a house was not ill proper repair by making an appropriate specified reduction iu the weekly rental, u neworder being granted when the repairs were effected. The tenant in this particular case was justified in complaining about a number of small matters.
The magistrate therefore ordered a special reduction of rent until the repairs arc effected.
