WOMAN APPOINTED
COLLEGE BOARD LEADER FIRST IN DOMINION \ (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. For the first time in New Zealand a woman has been elected as chairman of a technical college board. She is Miss B. E. Carnachan, who was appointed chairman of the board of managers of the Soddon Memorial Technical College yesterday. ' "Thank you very much," said Miss Carnachan after her election. "I am especially grateful to the men members of the 'board, because I realise that there was a barrier for them to break down."
