Voting for the election of the League Credentials Committee was secret at the request of Abyssinia. Mr. W. J. Jordan, the New Zealand High Commissioner, recorded New Zealand's vote. The Abyssinians are gratified that the British Foreign Secretary, Mr. Anthony Eden, and the Soviet Minister, M. Litvinoff, headed the list with 47 votes each. I lie French Foreign Minister, M. Delbos, received 46 votes. Mr. Jordan, whom the Abyssinians likewise expect to be favourable to them, was eighth with 40 votes. He will also serve on the committee. The Credentials Committee later met, but postponed its decision as to whether the Abyssinians are to be excluded from future meetings of the League Assembly. Meanwhile, Abyssinia will remain in the Assembly. Senor Saavedra Lamas, the Argentine Foreign Minister, was elected as president of the Assembly. Abyssinia participated in the vote.
