PROGRESS OF AVIATION
BRITISH CIVIL LINES MARKED EXPANSION (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9.30 a.m. RUGBY, Sept. 20. A report on the progress of civil aviation shows a marked expansion in the use of air travel and transport. The mileage of British civil aircraft on Continental, Empire, and internal services was more than doubled last year. Passengers increased by 00 per cent, and mails bv 300 per cent. TRANS -PACIFIC SERVICE ’FRISCO TO MANILA AMERICAN PROPOSAL NEW YORK, Sept. 20. Pan-American Airways announced to-day that a regular trans-Paeific service between San Francisco and Manila will begin next, month. The first passengers would embark in San Francisco on October 21 and would land six days later after a flight of five stages. The return flight is scheduled to begin on October 29.
