WEALTHY RECLUSE DIES
APPEARANCE OF POVERTY FED BY POOR NEIGHBOURS (Reed. Sept. 22, 11.50 a.m.) CAPETOWN, Sept. 21. Neighbou-s of an elderly Greek, Panaziotis Yafides, who fed him scraps of food from their own scanty store, were amazed to find he was worth £65,000, made from mining investments. Yafides died after an illness during which he protested that he was unable to afford the expense of attendance by a doctor. He left no will.
