THREAT TO SUSPECT
ASHEVILLE, X. Carolina, Aug. 10
A 22-year-old negro, Martin Moore, Is '.alleged to have confessed to the murder of Helen. Clevenger, beautiful New York girl, found shot and stabbed iu her pyjamas in her hotel bedroom here. The sheriff, who announced that Moore had confessed, says that robbery was the motive for the crime. Moore is detained on the fifteenth floor of Aslievillo courthouse for fear of a lynch mob. The girl’s uncle, Professor AY. L. Clevenger, was questioned by the police in connection with the crime, but was subsequently released.

An additional section, has been added to the schedule for tho spring flower show to he held at the week-end at Matawai. This is a small section of two classes, for camp-oven pastry and camp-over seed-cake. Mitch interest centres round tiie school ball, which is to lie held by the Matawai School Committee, assisted by a willing hand of lady helpers. Misses Lena Ikiru’s services have been secured. The children’s programme includes polkas. bam dances, two-steps and musical games.
