KING SOLOMON DISPUTE 40-HOUR WEEK ISSUE (Per Press Association.) GORE, last night. The directors of King Solomon Deep Lead Limited announce that owing to labour troubles the mine has being closed in the. meantime. The announcement follows a dispute regarding the inauguration of tho 40hour week, tho men refusing to work on Saturdays. Tho men held a stop-work meeting and unanimously decided to continue working tlio 40-hour week. They were thereupon informed by the manager that the mine would be closed pending a settlement of the dispute. The miners decided to withdraw the pump attendants, but there is no danger of the mine being flooded, as the manager and the foreman will take over tho pumping duties. About 50 men arc affected.
