SAFE RESISTS THIEVES
TWO ATTEMPTS FAIL USE OF GELIGNITE (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A second attempt within recent weeks to burgle two safes on the premises of Market Gardeners Limited, Wakefield street, was made this week. The intruders, who gaincfl an entrance by forcing a window, plugged the safes with gelignite and washing soap. The explosions jammed the mechanism and tho doors remained securely fastened. Even if the attempts! had been successful, the burglars would have gained nothing, as the management, does not leave money on the premises at night.
