BARTLETT'S NEWS
GIRLS' CLUB FORMED

The suggested Girls' Club came into 'being on. Wednesday night, when a well attended meeting took place in Bartlett's. Numbers of mothers, both pakeha and Maori, were present and the undermentioned officers were chosen to run the club:—Mrs. F. Mulligan, captain; Mrs. .1. French, vice-captain; Miss Edna French, secretary. Other members elected to the committee were Mrs. W. L. Bell, Miss C. Mulligan and Mrs. Torrie, a representative of the Y.M.O.A. committee.
Captain Suteliffe, ol the Church Army, who has been in New Zealand about six months, arrived at Bartlett's on Thursday with his caravan. He has with him "Cadet Tanner, who comes from Auckland, as his assistant. They gave a talk to 63 schoolchildren after school and showed them some interesting lantern slides. Captain Suteliffe leaves again on Monday to continue his tour. A benefit dance is to be held shortly for the widow and family of the late Mr. YVesche. and it is hoped that many will attend.
