The proposal submitted: to the Farmers' Union by Mr. W. Hay to define a new stock route on the Coast road from the Glenroy turn-off to Gisborne was further discussed at a. meeting of the Poverty Bay provincial executive of the union this afternoon, when it, was decided to refer the suggestion to the Cook County Council with a recommendation that the proposal be adopted. The president, Mr. .1. E. Benson, and Mr. F. S. Bowen, who are members of the County Council, promised to give the matter their support. Members agreed that it wa.s desirable to provide a new stock route so as to divert stock from u busy bitumen road.
