TAXI-CAB INQUIRY
TOWN CARRYING TRADE PLANS OF COMMITTEE (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. In connection with an inquiry To he held into the taxi-cab and town carrying- business, the committee chairman, Mr. P. M. Butler, said 'the investigation would open in Wellington on Monday morning. All evidence Avould be taken under oath. It was proposed that the hearing of the taxi-cab problem would'be taken first, and it was hoped to commence the inquiry into the town carrying business on Thursday. The committee will sit also at f'hristchurcli, Dunedin, Invercargill, Timaru, Palmcrston North, Wanganui, New Plymouth, Hamilton, Auckland, Whangarei, Kotorua, Gisborne, NapiorHastings and Masterton. Mr. A. L. Lynskey is the secretary and all inquiries should be directed to him at the Transport Department, Wellington.
