WAIROA RIFLE CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING GOOD CREDIT BALANCE (Herald Correspondent.) At the annual meeting of the Wairoa Rifle Club, the president, Mr. F. 11. Hall presided over a good attendance of members. Tho financiel statement showed a very sound position, there, being a good credit balance. The annual report, which covered all the activities of last sea-son, was also very gratifying, and special mention was made of the efforts of Mr. \V. G. Hall, who won the Taxi Cup and Champion Belt after a keen shoot-off with Mr. Ford, Gisborne. A tribute was. paid to tho veteran, Mr. M. P. Chapman, for his continued interest, and regret was expressed at the death of Mr. W, G. Couper, the donor of the cup. Tho president thanked Messrs. Hague and son for the use of their property for tho range. The election of officers resulted : Patron, Mr. M. P. Chapman; president, Mr. F. H. Hall; vice-president, Mr. C. E. Stone; treasurer, Mr. J. Scott; secretaries, Messrs. F. .1. Hall and C. F. Stone; auditor, Mr. D. By ford: committee, Messrs. S. (.'lark, T. Stiehbury, J. Hall and W. Hall; handicappers, Mr. C. Hall and. the secretaries; range officers, the president, secretaries, and Messrs. C. Hall and R. Powdrell. "
The opening shoot was fixed for September 20, but tho regular shoots begin on September 26. Mr. G. Zakris has donated a handsome cup for competition, and the Gisborne club hasi invited Wairoa to attend its opening on September 27.
