NAVAL CONVERSATIONS
SCANDINAVIAN POWERS QUEST FOR NEW TREATY PROGRESS IN LONDON (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 1.20 p.m. RUGBY, Sept. 17. The third meeting of the representatives of flic Governments of the Scandinavian countries and the United Kingdom Government in connection with the London Naval Treaty was held at the Foreign Otliee to-day. Full explanations on nil points have nowbeen given, and the naval exports will be able to return to their respective count t ies av-ith the necessary information to permit their Governments to decide on the attitude of the treaty. Good progress has been made, and it is expected that further discussions will take place in the near future, ft is undertsood that there are still some outstanding technical questions to be settled, but it is hoped that these will soon be overcome.
There is every evidence of the utmost readiness on the part of the Scandinavian countries to assist in every way in order to obtain u sntisfactorv .settlement.
The British Government is awaiting a reply from Germany in connection with curlier naval conversations with German representatives, and it is hoped that the discussions between the two countries will ‘he resumed verv shortlv.
