MISHAP TO MATUA
DAMAGE ON REEF RUDDER AND PROPELLER (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, tins day. The Union Steam Ship Company’s Mat.ua, when leaving Aitulnki at eight o’clock last night, struck a reef and received slight damage to her rudder and the port propeller. The vessel is proceeding to Rarotonga to land native labour and will then go direct to Auckland under lief own power. It. is understood she will ho docked at Auckland. BUMPED ON BAR MOTOR VESSEL GAEL REPAIRS AT NELSON (Per Press Association.) NELSON, this day. When taking a load of cement from Tara kobo to West, Wanganui, the motor vessel Gale, of 95 tons, bumped on the West Wanganui bar. Having sprang a leak, (lie vessel came on to Nelson this morning fur repairs.
