PLEA BY McMAHON

APPEAL LODGED f YEAR’S GOAL TERM (Reed. Sept. 17, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 16. George Andrew McMahon has lodged his appeal against the sentence of gaol for a year imposed on him at the Old Bailey 'on Monday, when he was convicted on the charge of producing a pistol near His Majesty’s person with intent to alarm him at Hyde Park corner on Julv 16.

The appeal is based mainly on the ground's of the judge’s alleged misdirection in pointing out to tho- jury- that McMahon’s story was told at the Old Bailey for llie first time, whereas there was unchallenged evidence that he told the same story at the War Office months previously.
