CRICKETER’S ADMISSION
BANKRUPTCY PROCEEDINGS
LONDON, Sept. 3.
Denying that his visit to Australia with the M.C.C. team had resulted in his .acquiring extravagant habits, Frank Rowbotham Foster, the Warwickshire cricketer, declared at liis public examination in the Birmingham Bankruptcy Court yesterday that his failure was duo to betting on horse and dog racing and extravagant living. He had now seen the folly of it, and had given up betting. His statement of affairs showed a deliciency of £OOI.
The official receiver said that Foster, for 20 years until 1928, had been employed by a elothing firm, latterly at a salary of £-1000 a year. He had received a personal allowance of £2OOO a year until 1930, when he separated from his wife, who had since received £S4O of it.
The examination was adjourned
