h.s.o.b. club ANNUAL MEETING HELD SEASON PROMISES WELL The annual general meeting of the HSO. B. Cricket Club was he id last evening with a fair, but enthusiastic, attendance. Mr. O. R. Olsen was in tlu chair. , . There wero a* number ol recent exUndents from I lie Gisborne High School present and in welcoming the new meinoers the chairman said that this season the club probably would have the strongest membership of any cricket club in the district. This fact, lie said, tended to prove that cricket was gaining in popularity as a summer sport with the youth of the district. In moving the adoption of the report ind balance sheet, Mr. Olsen pointed out that the club was in a strong position inaneially and had passed through its first year very successfully. There was a good'.credit balance and excellent prospects for the coming season. The amounts to be- levied for the annual subscriptions were fixed as follow:—Over 21 years, ill 2s 6d; under 21 years, 17s 6d. It was resolved that owing to the bad light on flic club’s practice wicket at the High School an endeavour should be made to obtain wickets at the Oval this season. The number of teams to lie entered by the club this season in the Poverty Bay Cricket Association’s competitions was discussed fully and it was resolved that as the membership was very strong and the necessary finance available, one senior A team, and two senior B teams should he entered. The meeting closed with a vote _of thanks to the chair and to (lie 1 nion Steam Ship Company, for the use of its offices. The election of officers resulted: —I atron, Mr. J. Hutton; president, Mr. O.
