FEAT BY DUTCH GIRL THOUSAND METRES LONDON, Aug. 24. A message from Berne, Switzerland, states that Miss Ragnhild .Hveger, who at the Olympiad finished second in the final of the 400 metres women's free-stylo swimming event, established a new world record for the 1000 motrcs. Her time was 14min. 35.550 e. The women's world record for 1000 metres free-stylo, 14min. 44.8 sec, was held by Miss Helene Madison, of the United States, who established it at New York on July 19, 1931. Miss Ragnhild Hveger is Danish and 15 years of age. She has recently set new world's records for 500yds, drain. 14.8 sec, and 800 metres, llmin. 11.7 sec.
