NINE MILES' FLIGHT
ADELAIDE, Aug. 11
A petrol-driven model aeroplane, owned liv Mr. T. Milford, of H.ndmarsh, disappeared while taking part in the Model Aeroplane Association s display at Pooraka aerodrome. North road, on .Sunday afternoon, and was found yesterday at Modbury, nine miles away. The model set up an Australian record in having climbed to an estimated height of 2000 ft. above the aerodrome. It then suddenly flattened out and flew away towards Yatnln. Apparently it kept flying unlil the petrol was exhausted, which would not exceed 10 minutes, and then gradually losing height, continued to glide, coming down to a perfect landing more than half an hour Inter. Both the model, which is valued at £2O and has n .span, of seven feet, and the tiny engifio, valued at £B, wero made by -Mr. Milford.
