MURDERED MISSIONARY

VICTIM IN ABYSSINIA FORMER. AUCKLAND BOY (Pnr Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Mr. G, C. Mitchell, the New Zealand missionary who was reported hv cablegram to-day to have been killed by natives in Abyssinia- was a son of Mr. and Mrs. F. .t. Mitchell, of Blockhouse Bay, Auckland. He was bom in Frith, Kent, about 30 years ago and was educated in Picardy in a higher grado school and at Wayby School, North Auckland. Ho passed through the Auckland Bible training institute.

Formerly he was the pastor of the Ashburton Baptist. Church. He had been in Abyssinia since 1930. serving with the Ethiopian Mission. He, married Miss Myrtle E. Jenkins, a missionary from Invercargill, in Addis Ababa four years ago. Other members of the family are a brother, the Rev. L. .T. Mitchell, Methodist minister, of Rotorua, a sister, Mrs. E. M. Blaildock. and a brother, Air. .Tames Mitchell, of Auckland.
