AUGUST MEETING The August meeting of the Takitimii Women’s Institute was held at the Selvyn Hall on Wednesday. Airs. AV. T. Pitt welcomed the members and visitors. After the sirjging of the institute song and the reading of the aspirations, silence was observed in view of the death of Sister Alay Gardiner's mother and Airs. Halbert’s grandchild. It, was decided that a letter should be sent to Sister Alay congratulating her on her appointment as: a vice-presi-dent of the Dominion federation. An apology was received from Airs. Lyndon. The resignations of Airs. Keiha, secretary, and Airs. Alay Pitts, mutual improvement. convener, were received. Airs. C. Winter was appointed temporary secretary, and she read Airs. Campbell's report of the conference in Dunedin. Refooting silk stockings was demonstrated by Airs. Glanville'. Airs. Douglas Blair was first in the competition, a silk lampshade. The members were invited to the Alanutuke mission house for their next meeting. The National Anthepi brought the proceedings to a close.
