Short Wave Stations

JNTBR-statiou interference in the short-wave bands is a matter that is causing anxiety in Europe. Most of the countries in this continent arc not: only increasing the numbers of their short-wave stations, but also the powers of these -transmitters. The position is developing so rapidly that in self-defence there must soon be some agreement as to the allocation of frequencies. Already there is difficulty in finding places for newcomers without affecting the operation of older stations. When the matter is discussed mere must bo world-wide representation, because a service restricted to one country is an impossibility in these .bands. It scorns that nothing much can be done until .1938, when an international conference on wavelength allocation is to lie held in Cairo.-
