Blue skies were reported throughout the North Island this morning. .Moderate to strong south-westerly wind:; were general. The barometer lnui risen steadily since yesterday. Rough Seas were reported at Capo Campbell and Castlepoint; elsewhere moderate or smooth. Last Night'p. .Forecast A deep depression still lies to the east of.the. North Island, but its after effects have been modified by a series of secondary depressions advancing across the south of the Tasman Sea, one of which is now moving on to southern New Zealand. An anticyclone covers Australia and the north of th,Tasman Sen. Winds: Strong but de creasing south-Westerly north of New Plymouth and Napier"; elsewhere northwesterly to westerly, bucking shortly again in places to south-westerly; moderate but increasing, especially about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Seas : Rough between Castlepoint and East Cape but decreasing • rough also north of Cape Kginout and about Foveaux Strait; elsewhere moderate, but rising south of Cape Egrnont. Eastern Tasman Sea : Moderate to strong west to southwest winds with rather rough to rough seas.
